FAQ [Frequently Asked Questions (Q), with answers (A)]

Q1. Why do you not include more questions regarding public issues in your survey questionnaire?

           A1Because the questionnaire would be too long, and we need to focus more attention on those questions     whose answers have widespread, long-term implications.

Q2. Why do allow for the establishment of “alternative” congressional offices headed by an alternative congressman once elections are over?

          A2: Because in those congressional districts where we have at least 25 members, they joined us because (1) They were unhappy with their elected Member of Congress [MoC];

(2) The candidate they supported did not win, and...

(3) For the same reason that the political opposition in England establishes a “shadow” government -- to advocate for alternative policies and to track & evaluate the government in power.

Q3. Why is the establishment of independent citizens’ committees or “circles” on major issues a major policy of a People’s Congress?

          A3: Because the first thing a lobbyist does is tell a newly elected MoC “We’re a great source of information for you.” Citizens’ Issue Circles would substitute for lobbyists, who are prime sources of congressional corruption.

Q4. Why do the members of a People’s Congress advocate reliance upon workaday people (contributing time) to political activities or campaigns, rather than wealthy donors [contributing big money]?

          A4: Because how can our government be for us, “We the People” if politics and government are also not “of” and “by’ us?

5. Why does the People’s Congress [PC] encourage independent candidacies?

         A5: Because, for former MoC Mickey Edwards shows in his latest book, PARTIES vs. the PEOPLE, the major parties are parties to the corruption of Congress. Electing a number of MoC’s to Congress under the PC banner would provide a strong basis for a new 3rd party.
